Membership
Membership in the Wyomissing Democrats Political Action Committee is by invitation. Members are expected to contribute a minimum of $100 each year to the general fund and are asked to help coordinate canvassing efforts in the Wyomissing Borough prior to the Primary and General Elections each year.
Leadership
The Executive Board is comprised of a Chairperson, Treasurer, Secretary and Events Coordinator. Elections for these positions are conducted by the Secretary every January by email. If necessary, the Chairperson may appoint the Treasurer, Secretary and Coordinator. Current municipal, county and state candidates and officials may not serve on the Executive Board. The Treasurer shall report receipts and expenses to the Executive Board monthly and to the state as required.
Meetings
Meetings are held as necessary but at least twice each year, on the first Sunday in February and last Sunday in August. The Secretary shall send email notification to the membership at least two weeks prior to any meeting, along with minutes of the previous meeting and an agenda for the upcoming meeting.
The primary purpose of the two regular meetings is to coordinate canvassing efforts in the five precincts of the Wyomissing Borough. Membership invitations, yearly priorities and candidate recruitment are discussed at the regular meeting in February or as necessary.
Endorsements
Candidates for local municipal, county and state offices may request consideration for public endorsement and financial support through the online application form (available after the Primary Election). Interviews with candidates are conducted by the Executive Board in August. The Executive Board submits to the membership for discussion its recommendations for candidate endorsement, including financial support, at the regular meeting in August.
